After nearly 5 years at Stockett Lane Dr Hickey has very sadly announced his departure and he would like to share a few words to you all from his time here.

'I am lost for the words to thank both the team at Stockett Lane and also the patients that have made every day rewarding, challenging, and thoroughly enjoyable. I was first interested in general practice by visiting some amazing people with my GP father 20 years ago and I still find that same pleasure when meeting a new patient. You quickly realise that ordinary people do amazing things and that these people are in the community around you and can inspire you.

'A new opportunity has arisen to join and develop a surgery in Woodchurch. With a new family I want to spend as much time in the community in which I live and to see as much of my family as possible. I will be starting work in Woodchurch Surgery, just outside Tenterden, in August. I can only hope that the patients there are as welcoming as those that I have met here.

'In an age when 'the budget' makes the headlines I have been lucky to be involved with a team here that puts patient care first. I hope to be able to provide such a good service elsewhere.

'Dr Will Richardson will be joining the surgery on 10 August. He has been a Registrar at the Mote Medical Practice and his surgery sessions will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I’m sure that you will give him the same welcome that you gave me - he is a very lucky doctor!

Dr Jack Hickey

Dr Terrell is presently on maternity leave; her surgery is being covered by Dr Rita Codlin.
