Staff Training
Doctors, nurses and administrative staff are all strongly involved in further education. We frequently have extra staff attached for training purposes in all these departments.
West Kent Primary Care Trust actively supports developing general practice, to improve the care of our patients.
Protected time has been set aside for several half days during the year. This time will be used to bring together staff throughout the PCT for educational programmes, to take forward clinical initiative, to learn from each other?s experiences and build on best practice.

GP Training
We frequently have extra Trainee Doctors attached for training purposes in the Practice. Much of the time there will be a Registrar (a fully qualified Doctor furthering their career in General Practice) working at Stockett Lane Surgery.
We occasionally use video recordings of consultations for teaching purposes. You will be informed of this prior to your consultation. If you have any objections at all do let the receptionist or Doctor know and the video will not be used.
There are occasions when patients need to be examined by a doctor which may involve an intimate examination. If you wish a chaperone to be present during your examination please do not hesitate to ask the doctor for a chaperone.
It may not be possible for such a chaperone to be provided immediately and you may be asked to return for the examination to be carried out at a mutually convenient time.
Mr Rob Thomas continues to offer a private osteopathy service on a Wednesday afternoon.
